Eylsia Nicolas reaches No. 1 with “Music in My Mind”

Singer songwriter Eylsia Nicolas has reached No. 1 on Groover’s Global Singer Songwriter Chart with her latest track, “Music in My Mind”. The release showcases what Nicolas describes as her “EOP Sound”—an experimental approach combining orchestral elements with electronic pop, house, Afrobeat, ragtime inspired piano and percussion.

The chart success comes alongside growing international attention for the independent artist. Reviews from several music publications have highlighted the unusual combination of styles and the cinematic character of the new track.

Brazilian publication “Nosso Som”, for example, described “Music in My Mind” as moving “between the cinematic and the danceable”, while noting that the track develops a musical language that cannot easily be reduced to #house, #trance, #classical #music or electronic #pop.

“Kindline Magazine” similarly pointed to the variety of influences behind the production, including house, Afrobeat, classical music and ragtime. The publication also highlighted the personal dimension of Nicolas’ recent work, particularly her changed vocal sound and new artistic direction.

“Apricot Magazine” called the song one of Nicolas’ most fascinating soundscapes to date and praised her willingness to experiment beyond conventional genre boundaries. “Zillions Magazine”, meanwhile, interpreted the EOP concept less as a technical experiment than as a reflection of a new phase in the artist’s life and career.

The track has also begun receiving European radio exposure. French station Radio Saint Dié approved “Music in My Mind” for broadcast, adding another international market to Nicolas’ growing audience.

An orchestral approach to pop

British music promotion executive Tony Michaelides, whose career has included work with artists including “U2”, David Bowie, “The Police” and Peter Gabriel, also responded positively to the recording.

“Wow, this sounds like a full orchestra,” Michaelides said, praising the arrangement and Nicolas’ vocals and confirming that he planned to play the track.

Nicolas uses the term “EOP” to describe a musical concept rather than a conventional genre. Its ingredients include classical orchestration, house and Afrobeat rhythms, ragtime piano, percussive string elements and Nicolas’ technologically restored voice.

The result is deliberately difficult to place within a single category. Instead, “Music in My Mind” uses elements from several musical traditions as building blocks for a contemporary pop production.

Growing digital audience

According to figures released by Nicolas’ team, her social media content has recently generated 25 million views within 48 hours and around 70 million views over a two week period. The team says her music and related content have accumulated hundreds of millions of views since 2025.

Those figures, together with the #Groover chart position, international reviews and increasing radio exposure, point to a rapidly expanding digital audience for an artist operating largely outside the traditional major label system.

Nicolas, also known as Lisa Pamintuan, is a #Filipina #American singer songwriter, entrepreneur and inventor as well as a former international tennis competitor. Alongside her music career, she is involved in projects in #fashion, #technology and #intellectual #property.
